Clubs and Organizations

Clubs and organizations provide an opportunity for students to get together outside of class, help the community, work toward a common cause, and take ownership of our school. To remain active, clubs must meet once per month to discuss activities, events and fund raising plans. Several clubs that were active last year include:

Academic Clubs

Creative Writing Club - promotes the creation and publication of a school wide literary magazine.

ExQu - promotes year round cultural awareness and sponsors competition in the Academic Olympiad.

Journalism - supports the financial needs of the student newspaper "Newbytes"

Leadership Club - supports the financial needs of the ASB cabinet

Peer Support - supports the financial needs of the Peer Support Program

Robotics Club - promotes after-school participation and financial needs of the Robotics class.

Science Explorers - provides additional enrichment activities for students interested in the sciences.

Speech Club - promotes interest in regional speech and debate competitions.

Cultural and Special Interest Clubs

BSU (Black Student Union) - promotes awareness of and serves the African-American community.

Campus Life - provides fellowship for Christian students to learn, grow, and worship.

FNL (Friday Night Live) - A club dedicating to promoting non-violence and healthy living

Geo Club (Global Exchange Organization) - promotes the global awareness through cultural field trips, hikes, dining adventures and participation in the school's Japanese Exchange Program

German Club - promotes participation in the school's German Exchange Program

Performing Arts Organizations

Art Club - promotes and supports the Art Program and enhances artistic contributions to the school

Band/Color Guard - supports the financial needs of the instrumental music program.

Cheer - supports the financial needs of the Spirit Squad

Choral Union - supports the financial need of school's choir program

WescovAires - supports the financial need of the school's show choir program

Thespians/Drama Club - aids in the production of plays and provides a forum for interest in theatre

Comedy Sportz - supports theatre and extracurricular competition in improvisational comedies
