Vision & Purpose - The Vision & Purpose of the Library Media Center is to promote a positive learning environment where students can gain access to high-quality educational materials. The LMC offers over 20,000 fiction and nonfiction books, over 35 magazine titles and 3 major electronic databases that connect students to well over 3000 academic journals and periodicals from all over the world. Library Books - Library books are available for circulation to students with an I.D. card. Each student is allowed to check out 3 library books at a time for a 3-week period. If books are not returned on time, fines will accrue at 10 cents per day. To renew books, students must stop by the library. If a book is lost or stolen the student will have to pay the cost to replace to the book (costs vary). Textbooks
- Students
are responsible for textbooks that are issued to them. It is the student's
duty to put a book cover on each textbook and keep it in good
condition. Free book covers are often available in the Media Center. Check all
textbooks for condition. If damaged,
when you receive them, you must notify the textbook clerk within the first
2 weeks of school. When returning your books at the end of the year
charges may be applied for lost or damaged books. Textbook damage fees are
$13, barcode damage is $3. When a student
withdraws from a class, textbooks must be returned to the Media Center. Fees
- Students
are financially responsible for all items that are checked out, including
textbooks. Fees for lost or overdue books must be paid before students
are cleared for graduation or admission to fall classes. Damage or
Lost/Stolen Book Fees are paid at
the ASB office. Library Fines are paid in the Media Center. ASB accepts
cash and checks but no checks past April. Net Info - All students must have a WCUSD Internet Acceptable Use Policy Release (Form 7007) on file with the Media Center to use school computers in our labs. Students will receive a "NET" stamp on their I.D. cards and are required to present these cards in order to use the computers in any of the computer labs. When using the computers in the Media Center, I.D. Cards will be displayed on the keyboard or other visible place. Internet
Use & Email - The computers are available whenever
teachers have not reserved them for use during their classes. Lost
& Found -
If clothing, books, backpacks or notebooks have been lost, check first in
the Media Center. The Media Center staff maintains a Lost and Found
cabinet. T.A.s
