USOS DEL IMPERFECTO PARA LA LÍNEA CRONOLÓGICA

To speak about background events in a story:  (Often weather!) Era una noche fría y llovía mucho.  Hacía mucho sol and los pájaros cantaban.  

To talk about something you used to do as a matter of habit:  José iba a la casa de sus abuelos todos los veranos.

To speak about how old someone was:  Susana tenía ocho años cuando ganó el trofeo.

 To say what time it was:  Eran las nueve de la mañana cuando el chico vio el robo del banco.  Era la medianoche cuando el fantasma llegó a la casa vieja.  Era el mediodía cuando los novios comieron su merienda.

Para  LA LÍNEA CRONOLÓGICA:  Use emotions also since they do not usually have a beginning or ending:

 Mi mama se sentía                          orgulloso/alegre/contento/feliz/triste/etc.             

Mi papa estaba

Mis padres se sentían

Mis abuelos estaban

Hacía             (mucho) calor/frío/viento/sol.

 Era verano/otoño/invierno/primavera.

ESPAÑOL II             LA LÍNEA CRONÓLOGICA MÍA                     SRA. COSTALES

 Usa el programa POWER POINT con 11 diapositivas (slides.)  La primera diapositiva tiene el título LA LÍNEA CRONÓLOGICA.  Incluye tu nombre y apellido, tu clase (PERIOD), y la fecha de hoy con el año.

 Usa los numeros ordinales de PRIMERO hasta DÉCIMO para los demás de las diapositivas.  Incluye la fecha, o el mes y el año para el título.  Escribe una oración con CUANDO + YO PRETERITO FORMA + NEW SUBJECT WITH IMPERFECTO FOR FEELINGS OF ANOTHER, OR WEATHER, OR TIME, OR DESCRIPTION.  Pon ilustraciones tambien.

Prepare a Power Point presentation with 11 slides (diapositivas.)

For each slide you will need an illustration, including the title page.

After the title page, you need ONE sentence in Spanish describing what you used to do when you were around 6 to 10 years old.  You must use 10 different verbs in the IMPERFECTO for the YO form.  Use a LARGE, READABLE font for your sentences.  Choose an appropriate illustration for    each activity.  E-mail your Power Point as an ATTACHMENT to peggy.costales@wcdhs.net.

You will present your Power Point en voz alta (aloud) to your compañeros.

RUBRIC:  100 PUNTOS

Correct verb and vocabulary usage:   50 puntos. .

Appropriate illustrations:                   20 puntos.            

Interest/Artistic quality:              10

Oral presentation:                             20 puntos.

Classzone Assignment (below)                                                                Students log onto http://www.classzone.com from the Internet.1) Go to World Languages and find the Level II Textbook. 2) Find Unidad 1, Etapa 3 and take the self-check quiz. 3) Then find the Link Activity for U1E3. 4) Open a WORD document and title it TITULARES and put SITE I, II, III. 5) List 5 headlines in Spanish or English for each of the three sites.6) Email it to peggy.costales@wcdhs.net.  Include your full name and period on the subject line. 7) If you have any time left, try to write a poem in SPANISH to a FRIEND. (NO NAMES, PLEASE!)  Use Spanish from the vocabulary list or any Spanish you know.  Remember the poem Francisco wrote to Alma in the En Vivo section? Use that one as an example from P79.  Include it with your email attachment.mail attachment.
